Dr. Howard Kushner, OD
Behavioral Optometrist
Dr. Kushner had Convergence Insufficiency, a problem using his eyes together as a team. It affected his ability to read. Although he performed well academically, he worked hard for his grades. Even though the eye-teaming problem was identified, no one knew how to improve it. It wasn’t until Optometry school that he learned about Vision Therapy and found the help he needed. This sparked his interest in Vision Therapy and Behavioral Optometry. His personal experience drives his approach towards his patients.
Outside the office, Dr. Kushner raises his two sons, who are 13 and 16 years old. He frequents the gym and enjoys hiking. He can often be found with a guitar in hand. He loves music, and has played in various bands over the years.
